Cruise in at Summer Crush Winery, October 23, 2022

As a CPA who works on taxes, October 15th is a big day for me. It's the end of a rough 3 months and the filing deadline for individuals and corporations after extension. Typically, the first couple weekends afterward I try to catch up on all the socializing I miss out on during tax season. This year was no exception and the cruise in at Summer Crush Winery was the perfect escape. This event has been going on for a number of years now but it was a first time for me.

Now in normal fashion of overbooking myself, I hadn't originally planned to attend this event. It was about a 2 hour drive from where I stay, and I had an autocross, (ERSCC) up in the same area the very next morning. Gio, with the silver turbo NA6 had talked about going, and after seeing if I could convince Drew with the blue 10AE NB to do both days with me the decision was made the night before.

I came loaded with two cameras, as they both had half shot rolls of film inside that I wanted to get the photos within back from. I brought a Canon Canonet GL17 QIII, loaded with some Fuji 200, and a Canon F-1n, with some black and white Palm Pancromatic 400 (my local film labs film that they produce). I don't often shoot car related events on black and white, but always up for the challenge. I was also rocking a yellow filter on the FD 35mm F2 lens for my first time. A yellow filter gives slightly darkened blues, increasing sky contrast. When snapping landscapes a yellow filter darkens the sky slightly, helping to balance its exposure against the darker ground.

A seriously clean LS6 swapped M-edition, and Gio's built and boosted small block. The M-edition was a sleeper sans the plate that gave it away, but I am a sucker for Gio's taste and styling that go along with the functionality of his car.

Two ND's, one rocking a killboy sticker, and the other still rocking dirt from a honeymoon trip up to Tennessee for the Tail of the Dragon.

Another local, father & son combo build . This boosted NB has some neat pieces in the bay, including the only Gato performance manifold I've seen not in a fully prepped drag car.

Our friend Abraham, who runs a great instagram page CafeMiata, helped coordinate the caravan up to the show. The R32 GTR wheels on this are an awesome touch one would never expect to see.

Towards the end of the day once it started clearing out, I had Gio & Drew back further into the orchard for some pictures of their cars. Of course, also snagged the same scenery with my own.
