Street Racing Made Safe Autocross

October 02, 2022

If you have a roadster, and aren't racing what are you doing?!

This Sunday we were at Homestead Speedway, not for Nascar, but for autocross. Street Racing Made Safe hosts Autocross at this location various times a year. The goal of these events is to get racing off the streets and promote safe driving. Sundays event started off with a little rain (Typical Florida). Thankfully the rain stopped just prior to the drivers meeting, after the drivers meeting the racing began!

As always there is a wide variety of cars at these events. We are Roadster Pilots though, and the roadsters in  the pits prior to racing were impressive to say the least!

As racing began, and the track dried you could feel the competitve spirt! Racers were going head to head to get the top spot in the Cosmo Point Series.

Coming in first place in the RWDRT class is Tony Fucini in his 2002 K-Powered Miata!

Driver, and Co-Founder D. Vasquez fastest run of the day. For having a 1990 Miata with a stock 1.6L a 54.09 was pretty good!

We would like to give a huge thank you to all the event organizers, and volunteers for hosting such a fantastic event! Roadster Pilots will be back for the next SRMS event November 27.
